Mika + Justin’s Trione Winery Wedding {Sonoma County wedding photographer, Trione Wedding Photos, Winery Wedding Photos}

Mika is just about the funnest person to be around!  I fell in love with Mika and Justin instantly!  They met me at my house for their engagement session and were greeted by my lovely son in his undies running around.  When Justin said hello Aidan promptly replied “I don’t care! ahhhhh!!!” and ran away.  So naturally I’m mortified.  But not with Mika and Justin, they made jokes and loved every minute of it.  They are just all around good people to be around.

Fast forward to their very anticipated wedding day at one of my favorite venues, Trione Winery in Geyserville, CA.  To say Mika thought of everything would be a massive understatement!  She not only thought of every little detail but she made them herself.

They got married exactly one year after they were engaged.  ” Justin and I love to laugh, be silly and have fun with our friends and family so we decided that our wedding priority is to make sure that our guests had a blast. We wanted them to leave thinking ‘that was one of the funnest weddings they have been to!!’ Because of this we made sure the wine, champagne and beer were plentiful, the DJ was rocking and the photo booth was ready! ” -Mika

Their wedding colors were vibrant plum and lime green with a country chic theme. To accomplish this they used lots of mason jars and custom painted frames and chalkboards. I LOVED their guest favors, they were mason jar mugs that the guests could drink out of all night and then take home with them! Mika’s friend designed the logo on the mug to look like actual mason jar font. They also had monogrammed chap stick as a favor, and for those who know Mika know that she does not go anywhere without her chap stick!!  Such a cute personal touch! One of my other favorite (ok there are too many so I guess favorite isn’t the right word but you get the idea!) To make sure the guests would feel comfortable dancing all night they had flip flops available for the ladies who wore their sassiest heels (because we all know weddings are the best place to show off your best heels)!!!

All of the personal touches were just icing on the cake to their beautiful venue.  Mika spotted this location long before she was even engaged on a wine tasting trip.  She said she always knew she wanted to get married there!  lucky for her she was able to live that dream!

This wedding was so much fun!  I was lucky enough to have my good friend Meghan Wiesman with me from Meghan Wiesman Photography as my second photographer.  I’m lucky to have such a great friend who flies up a few times a year to shoot with me!

…you might want to get comfy there are a lot of photos….

The Bride and her Maids choreographed a surprise dance for the guests!  They all came out for the typical “bridal party get on the dance floor” dance and then the DJ started the music and the guys happily got out of their typical obligation to awkwardly dance with the bridesmaids in front of all the guests.  Then the ladies took the floor! So much fun!  Meghan and I shot off to the side and tried staying out of the videographer’s way because we knew this would be an amazing highlight to their video but I just wanted to show a few of the shots because it was such a fun part of the night~

Meghan and I both got brand new Canon 5D markiii cameras at the same time and this happened to be our first wedding with both shot with our new amazing cameras.  If you are into photography then this part won’t be a foreign language, if you aren’t just skip on down to the photos LOL The camera has AMAZING low light capabilities!  If you’ve ever been into the Trione Greystone building you know that saying “it’s dark in here” is an UNDERSTATEMENT!  It was literally pitch black on the dance floor with alternating colored up-lighting.  The ceilings are vaulted and the walls are stone so it’s just a massive challenge.  Well I’m happy to say this camera CRUSHED that challenge!  Most of the dance photos are taken in the pitch black at 1.2-1.4 at 8000-12000 ISO 1/80 with just one flash on top and occasionally a video light when I’d sneak by the videographer.
