My Husband and I have a group of friends that we have been friends with for many many many years.  It started as the boys being young, single, bachelor friends to now being family Men.  Through the years they’ve each gotten married and with each marriage entered a new person to the circle of friends.  Then with each child we each became honorary “Aunt’s and Uncles”  I’ve watched these kids grow up.  For the last 3 years I’ve woken up early and met everyone at the Hutchin’s home for the first day of school to snap a few shots of them before they head off to their “big day”  I remember the first time I walked them to school, it brought back so many fond memories of being a kid.  The anticipation, the nerves, the excitement were all so familiar.  It seemed like such a HUGE day back then. It felt like it would be FOREVER until we had to do this with our (what was at the time) baby boy.  But something was different today.  I woke up, got my son dressed in his first day of school outfit, fed him breakfast, and he joined in on the photos with the rest of the kids.  Such a surreal moment to see my baby with a backpack.  Only assuming the feelings he had inside as he prepared for his first day doing what he has been watching the other kids do each year.  I thought it would only be fitting to pull out some old photos from the past couple years “first day of school pics”

Of our circle of friends we have the oldest in 7th grade, 1 in 5th grade, 2 in 4th grade, 1 in 3rd grade, 1 in 2nd grade,  1 in pre-k (4 year olds), and 1 in pre-k (3 year olds).  There are 3 more younger ones that will soon be joining in one each year until we have 5 kids all consecutively in school!  For a total of 11 kids!
