I met Jennifer and Robert at the Sonoma Bridal Show last year.  They were the lucky winners of the free Reception Book !

When I do an engagement session if the couple doesn’t have any sort of idea in mind for how they want their engagement session to look I try and gather some info on the couple both as individuals and as a couple.  This helps me to personalize the session better.  When I asked Jennifer about herself and Robert she simply said Robert has always been into music, he played the trumpet in school and he loves to read Science Fiction books.  She went on to tell me that she danced ballet from age 5 all the way until she was 20, with a little bit of jazz in the later years.  So I immediately thought of some cute creative ways to incorporate these pieces of their personality into their session.  Well it wasn’t until the session that Robert began telling me that he isn’t a band geek who plays trumpet and reads sci-fi books LOL  he also played nearly every sport there was! and excelled in them as well! 

We got so lucky for this shoot.  Jennifer and I had been writing each other all week in regards to the weather.  Fearing we may have to reschedule since there was mixed reports of rain.  As I pulled up to the location it was cold, cloudy, and didn’t look very promising but we were comitted to making it work.  And that we did!!!  I am not even over exsagerating when I say that the second I got into my car and made it 2 ft down the driveway towards the exit it began to rain.  By the time I made it half way home it was POURING!!!  Talk about great luck!!
