Often times I end up photographing at the same locations frequently.  This has many reasons.  I know the light and seasonality of these locations really well, I know we won’t get kicked out lol, but most often its by request.  So although I do love photographing at my “security blanket” locations, its always nice when I am asked to go to a new place.  I told the couple I wasn’t familiar so they needed to be a bit flexible and willing to go with the flow.  We would drive up the mountain and stop as I randomly saw good light.  To my delight they were more than up for it!  So we took a beautiful drive up Mt.Tam and stopped a few spots on our way to the top.  I think it’s safe to say good things come when you step outside of your comfort zone occasionally !
