I promised last night I would share what the meaning of the photo was (that I posted late last night on Facebook) So here it is. Just as we were getting Ashley into her dress her Mom, Donna shows me a little white zipper pouch. She tells me there are two things in there one from her Father and one from Ashley’s Dad’s Father. Both have past away but they wanted a way for them to be with her on her special day. The item from her Mom’s Father was his wooden cross on a leather rope. The other was a set of dog tags and a lucky 4 leaf clover key chain that Ashley’s Dad’s Father kept with him during WWII (he was in the Army). That 4 leaf clover and the strong love of his family kept him safe and brought him home to have 4 Boys and 1 beautiful girl with his amazing wife. Fast forward many decades later, John (Ashley’s Dad) some how came into possession of the dog tags and didn’t tell anyone about them. They set up this special moment for his siblings and his Mom to reveal how Ashley was keeping their Father (her Grandfather) close on her special day. The family’s reaction to this moment was priceless.
