I have had the pleasure of photographing several engagement proposals.  It’s such an amazing way to be witness to the beginning of the wedding journey as well as the culmination.  I partnered up with the amazing wedding planner, Amanda Vineyard of Vineyard Events and she and Tanner planned out this entire proposal from beginning to end!! All from long distance, Tanner and Toni are from Canada!!!  Wow they did an amazing job!   It was all so much fun.  Basically Tanner told Toni that they were going on a group tasting at the top of the Mountain at Kunde Winery in Sonoma, CA.  Amanda and I go there early and made sure the location was all set up with a table, chairs, glasses, etc.  I had the ring in my camera bag ready to put out on the table just moments before.  Amanda brought her lovely Mother along to play part in the rouse…  Amanda and her Mom were fellow tasters along for the tour.  I was the tour’s official photographer there to take photos for them all along the way.  Dwight (the Kunde tour guide, amazing tour guide) and I played as if we were long time friends and have been doing this tour together for years!!!  We rode up the mountain stopping at the usual stops doing the typical tour.  Then on the way back down the Mountain Dwight stopped at Boot Hill.  This is typically not on the stop but Toni didn’t know that.  I jumped out first and walked over to the table that you couldn’t quite see from where we stopped the shuttle.  Amanda distracted the couple to give me time to drop the ring off and get set.  Then as they were walking over towards me I noticed that Amanda needed some extra seconds to get ahead of them more to put her phone on the dock and start the music so I stopped Toni and Tanner and took a photo of them to buy Amanda some time and I wanted to be sure they didn’t have their sunglasses on.  I LOVE this photo of them because poor Tanner can’t hid his nerves.  Then I backed away and Tanner walked right over to the table and did his thing.  and of course she said YES!!  Amanda then took out the lunch she had made from the cooler we hid earlier in the morning.  We let the couple sit on the mountain top and eat lunch and enjoy their first moments as an engaged couple together!!
